After a week of sunshine, good music and copious amounts of Malibu… I have just returned from Ibiza with 4 of my best friends. It was a-mazing! Unfortunately I am now back at work and suffering from major holiday blues. 🙁 We had such a good time and was so lucky with the weather, as temperatures were the highest they had been in years. This fact made me a very happy bunny! I felt as though we done everything we wanted to do out there, which can sometimes be hard when there’s a group of you, as people tend want to do different things and have conflicting ideas of where to go. But a lot of last minute pre- holiday planning was really worthwhile, as it made things 10x easier when we got there. We stayed right in the central part of San Antonio, which I think was a really good location for our first time there. The main strip was about a 2 minute walk away, there were plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance and we were also not too far from the beach. The only thing I would highlight is having to get taxis to the clubs, as they are quite often in the middle of nowhere. But between the group of us, it wasn’t too costly. Although it was a bit of a pain having to get 2 taxis for the 5 of us, as 7 seaters didn’t seem to exist out there, which is rather odd.
Here a few highlights of my time in Ibiza: (this post may be longer than anticipated)
This was something we had booked before we went, but we didn’t really know what to expect. It literally is an abandoned Zoo which has been turned into a venue. It’s a really cool place (quite bizarre too, actually) and if I’m realllly honest, the main reason we wanted to go, was so that we could get the animal themed body paint that everyone gets. Any excuse for a bit of glitter…

We tried to get a reservation for dinner at Cafe Mambo, but it was completely booked out. But we did manage to get a nice little spot to watch the sunset, which was lovely and was only a short walk from our hotel.

The club Sankeys was about a 30 min taxi ride away, and is smaller venue which has a cool underground / down and dirty kind of vibe to it. Really enjoyed this night, especially the tiny cinema room upstairs in the outside bit. So strange haha.

Now this was my favourite daytime out of the week. Ocean Beach Club was always on our ‘to do’ list and it was only a short walk away from our hotel. We bought the tickets before we went out there, as the event was Kisstory which we knew we would all enjoy. This was by far the hottest day, typically- the only day I wear an actual swimsuit instead of a bikini! We were roasting. We pre- booked our Sunset Garden Cabana which was upstairs in a smaller section and it was like a huge 4 post bed. Well I think we all agreed this was the best idea we had throughout the holiday, it was pure bliss! We paid a deposit on the bed at the time of booking, and then we paid the rest when we arrived. With that money, it then gave us an allowance to spend on food and drinks 🙂 We absolutely loved it on the roof garden, it’s laid back and a lot more relaxed but also with the option to go down to the pool and dance area for the fun! I would have to say though, be prepared for the prices here! I think the bottle of Disaronno was about 130 Euros… However the food was reasonablly priced, and so yummy. It was about 22 Euros for a big sharing platter for 2 people which is pretty good, but between the 5 of us it worked out quite well and we did get a lot with the allowance.

This was a really good venue, and was about 15 mins in a taxi from our hotel. We saw Rudiemental here and it was just a great night all around! Drinks were on average 18 Euros, pretty much the same as every other club. I would definitely like to go to Amnesia again if I came back.

This venue is one of the coolest I’ve been to. What’s funny, is that this was our last night proper night in Ibiza and we didn’t have anything planned. It got to about 8pm and we really randomly, last minute decided to go and check it out. So we jumped in a taxi which was about 30 mins away as it was in Bora Bora, and that costs about 30 Euros. We didn’t know who was playing and we ended up buying tickets on the door as we found out it was Axwell & Ingrosso. This cost us 65 Euros. When we walked in, it was such a good atmosphere, and the place itself was my favourite venue by far!! This turned out to be the best night. We all loved it. If I go back to Ibiza, I think that would be one of the first places I’d put down to go. It’s a bit different to the other places, as for one- it has a pool in the middle of it, and it starts at like 5pm and ends at 12. Whereas Amnesia for example, Rudimental started at about 2:30 am which is the normal sort of time.
So basically, I am so happy to have experienced all of this and would love to go back, as I feel there is still a lot more to explore! It can be quite a pricey holiday by the end of it all- obviously you could do it slightly cheaper if you wanted but I would say it’s worth it. If you are looking to go to a super club every night, then I would expect to be taking a LOT more spending money, as even a bottle of water was about 10 Euros on average. But Ibiza definitely exceeded my expectations, and I can see why people always go back!
