I have seen that NYX makeup is becoming more and more popular, so I decided to try some out for myself. I actually ordered mine from Very.com, simply because I was browsing the Very website and realised that they have recently started selling NYX makeup. I was aware that this was an affordable brand, but I had never really looked at prices. So I was quite shocked to see how cheap they are!
NYX MAKE UP SETTING SPRAY – MATT
I’ve never owned a setting spray before, and I did wonder if they make a difference. So I thought I would purchase one of the NYX ones, as they’re cheap. I usually like more of a matte finish to my make up as opposed to a dewy look, especially during the Autumn and Winter months. Well after trying this, I actually feel like my make up isn’t complete until i’ve used this now. It does make a difference, and definitely makes my makeup appear more matte. I’m quite prone to getting slightly shiny at the end of the day, but I have noticed that using this really does pro-long a shine free face for me.
NYX BAKED BLUSH WANDERLUST
The first thing I loved about this product, is the adorable packaging! I love the little bow opening, it’s so cute. This blush is really pretty. It needs a bit of building up but once done and the slightly tough outer edge has been broken through , it comes across a really gorgeous shimmery colour. It’s a lot more pigmented after a few swirls of the blush brush!
NYX CONCEALER JAR BEIGE
What I really like about this product is the shade selection. There are so many different shades and colours to choose from! I also love the little tub/jar it comes in, and it’s really handy to just throw in my bag if I’m going out all day. Although this concealer is actually really long lasting, so chances are- I wouldn’t really need to top up! The formula is really soft and so easy to blend. I would say it gives a medium- full coverage, so it’s perfect for those dark circles under my eyes!
NYX SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM STOCKHOLM
I knew for sure that I wanted to try the Lip colours, as these are mainly what I have seen having the good reviews. The hardest part was choosing which colours to have, I played it safe and opted for a nude. I chose the Soft Matte Lipcream in ‘stockholm’. It’s more of an orange nude, so when when I first swatched it, I wasn’t too sure if it would suit me or not. But after trying it on, I loved it. It feels really silky on the lips and lasted for hours, along with drinking and eating. So I was really happy with this choice. Although this product is called ‘Soft Matte’ – it’s quite strange, as it’s obviously a liquid when you apply but then it instantly turns matte, which is what I like about it. And in my opinion, gives a quicker and easier application for when I’m out and about.
I also knew that I wanted to try out the newer ‘Intense Butter Gloss’, which I bought in the colour ‘Toasted Marshmallow’. I LOVE this. It’s really thick and glossy, and the colour bursts with just one swipe of the wand. I think this is going to be my favourite product to wear on my lips this Autumn, as it’s a real deep plum colour which I think is gorgeous. There are loads of beautiful colours to choose from, and I know that I’ll definitely be purchasing some more.
