I think it’s safe to say that the majority of us get lazy with cleaning our makeup brushes. I’m not sure anyone would disagree with me, when I say it’s a rather irksome task that creeps up on us ever so regularly.
In the same breath, I know that there is a very high percentage of people who don’t actually clean their make up brushes at all!
We accumulate bacteria on our face daily. As soon as your makeup brush is used on your skin, that bacteria is instantly stored into the bristles of that brush. If it’s not cleaned, the bacteria is then left to fester- until using the same brush again, where the bacteria is just being spread allll over your face- then the next day when you use the same brush it spreads again.. and again..and again- until your makeup brush is nothing but a breeding ground for bacteria that you are applying to your skin over and over again- which can clog your pores and cause outbreaks. (which we most certainly do not want) I also find that make up applies so much smoother and looks fresher with a clean brush. But bringing me back to my initial point- I really dislike scrubbing my brushes and having to wait 24 hours for them to dry… only to find them relatively clean.
So when I came across this intriguing device, I knew that I was willing to try anything that would make this task easier for me. I have literally been eyeing this up for months now, but just never got round to buying it, as it seems to go in and out of stock so quickly- which made me want it even more, as surely that’s saying something.
So here is a very gross looking powder brush (don’t judge me)
In the set you get a selection of silicone brush holders that pop into the electric handle. So you just choose which size fits your brush and clip in into the handle. If you are using the Stylpro solution, just pop some into the clear bowl and that’s all you need- or if you are using a different cleanser ( I like to use a handwash, such as a dove) drop some of that into the bowl and add water. And we’re good to go!
You then submerge your brush into the solution, dipping it in and out a few times. Then just turn on the electric handle, and the brush starts wizzing round really fast. After dunking it in and out of the water for around 20 seconds the brush is now clean as a whistle! Then repeat this step again, but this time completely out of the solution so that the brush is whizzing round inside the bowl and drying off. After another 20-30 seconds the brush is completely dry and ready to use!
And here is the very same brush, roughly one minute later!
It looks like a completely different brush altogether!
At £49.99- it is a little bit pricey. But let me just say that this is the best purchase I have made in a while. It’s super easy, and is pretty fun to use. It literally takes a matter of seconds to both wash and dry. I know. What sort of witchcraft device must this be? Why had no one thought of this sooner? Or more to the point, why didn’t I buy this sooner?
