Candles are something I love to use all year round. However, having a candle burning when you are all snuggled up and cosy in the cold Winter is just bliss. It was just this evening that Tom turned to me and said ‘I think we should start burning some more candles as we have so many’. And he’s right, I have collected a fair few over the past, both cheap as well as few luxurious ones.
Now Jo Malone candles are infamously pricey- extortionate for a candle, some might say. Though I feel that make a really great gift if you are after giving something a little more special. These candles retail at around £45 each.. I know. It seems a bit of an obscene amount of money to spend on a candle, and I will admit- you can pick up a candle for under a quarter of the price, and it will still smell great. But I’m all for a little bit of indulgence. Plus there are other candles out there that cost heaps more than these do. These little jars of luxury have 45 hours of burning time, and smell absolutely divine.
Lime Basil and Mandarin is the Jo Malone signature scent, as well as it being the best seller. And to be honest, I can see why. It’s fresh and limey.. (definitely not a word). I don’t normally go for citrus type of candles but this is just gorgeous.
The Sweet Almond and Macaroon is by far my favourite one! I can’t even describe it. It smells incredible as soon as you lift the lid off, let alone when it’s burning. YOU MUST GO AND SMELL IT!
I received these three candles as gifts over the course of a couple of years, and I just think it’s such a lovely present to receive. If you have never smelt a Jo Malone candle, I do strongly advise that you go and have a sniff in your local Selfridges or John Lewis. They are honestly just divine. I don’t think I have come across a bad one yet!
